Email # 3 – Tutorial Video – Exercises – Quiz

You have access to the PDF Notes and Exercises for our Math Program in each lesson for free, but you have to print them out.

I know this can be laborious and maybe expensive, but . . .  Good news below!

It is VERY IMPORTANT that the student have a hard copy to add to and keep for future review.

The student will need them when watching the Tutorial Video on each Lesson and, more importantly, for Review.

Now, we realize it can be difficult for some parents to print out the Notes and Exercises.

For example, Tier 1 alone is about 160 pages. And, it probably costs about $20 to have them printed locally.

GOOD NEWS. Technology just amazes me.

Amazon will print the Notes and Exercises very cost effectively.

So you can go to Amazon and buy each Tier’s Notes and Exercises for about 1/3 the local cost.

For example, Tier 1, 160 pages, 8.5”x11”, is only $5.99 (plus state tax and S & H, which is free if you have Amazon Prime.

Tier 1 Notes and Exercises – $5.99

Tier 2 Notes and Exercises – $7.99

Tier 3 Notes and Exercises – $8.99

Tier 4 Notes and Exercises – $19.99

Tier 5 Notes and Exercises – $14.99

Tier 6 Notes and Exercises – $4.99

Wow. Can you believe that?  All six Tiers are now available at Amazon.

The prices are based on the number of pages of each Tier.

Example: Tier 4 is 500 pages for only $19.99

Email # 4 – Coaching

Hello Partner!

I’m pleased to be your student’s Math Teacher, but s/he also needs a good Coach.   Good news.

The Coach does not need to know Math!

The Coach is probably going to be You or someone you designate who is a good communicator with your student.

Here is some advice on Coaching in a book I wrote, How and Why… Home School Math Can Be Vastly Superior to Public School Math.

You’ll want to check our Chapters 7 and 8, plus Addendum 3.

You can read the PDFs or watch the videos.

Be sure your student gets good coaching.

Monitoring your student’s progress is a big part of it.

In Tier 0, there is a link to a PDF titled “How to View Student Activities” that explains how to do this.  To access it,simply login to your parent account at:
https://triadmathinc.com/moodle/login/index.php
Then click on Tier 0 and scroll down to the PDF.

There is also a video above the PDF in Tier 0 that explains how to do this. Please note, you need to click the expansion arrow in the upper-right corner of Moodle to pop out the Coaching box that you need to use.

Contact Debbie if you have a problem: dgoodman@triadmathinc.com

Email # 5 – Struggling Math Student

Hi Coach,

MANY students enter our program not liking math, fearing math or have struggled with math in their past.

It’s ot their fault!

And, almost always correctable.

Just get your student to start learning to use the TI-30Xa Scientific Calculator.

This is Kinesthetic, and most students love it. It’s almost like a game.

Success breeds more Success.

Praise the student for their efforts… watching the video and doing exercises.

Praise Mistakes as Effort too!

Tell your student,  “And, this is normal.  Everyone makes mistakes when learning new things, including Dr. Del!”

Praise the completion of each lesson.

To fully explain this I suggest you read Chapter 2, or watch the video in my book at: https://homeschoolertoday.com/superior/

It is wonderful to see a struggling student who dislikes math suddenly blossom and succeed with math.

Of course Content and Pedagogy are the Keys.   And . . . .

A Good Teacher, ME, and a Good Coach, YOU.

Email # 6 – College Bound Students

Hi Coach,

If your student is thinking of taking the SAT or ACT, tests then go on into Tier 3.

You will need to get the wonderful book by Dr. George Simmons, PreCalculus Math in a Nutshell.  I will use about 20% of it in TIer 3.

Can you believe the greatest high school math textbook of all time for about $20?   Wonder why no schools ever use it?  Money?

These tests are always changing, and as you may know, I am not a fan.

But, Tier 3 should help your student do reasonably well.

Plus, some of the topics should be of use in the real world too.

Also, Tier 3 is getting a STEM student ready for Tier 4 in multiple ways.

Onward!

Email # 7 – Practical Math Foundation, Tier 2

Dear Coach,

Once your student gets through Tier 1, get ready for a wonderful experience for both your Student and You.

Now your student is ready for Tier 2, the Practical Math Foundation.

Practical Algebra, Geometry & Trigonometry

Most students do this in about three months, give or take a few months.

It is, of course, Self-Paced.

And… the student should do a lot of Review since we all have to learn something multiple times before we don’t forget it.  At least Dr. Del does!🙁

NOW, Good News, when Tier 2 is mastered and remembered, the student is ready to learn all sorts of technical subjects and enter the technical workforce or military.

Or, if College bound or STEM bound, to continue onto Tier 3.

If your student is going to a regular school this should help him or her a lot.  Of course, that depends on the school too!

Keep up the good work!

Email # 8 – STEM Student

Suppose you have a student who is, or might be, interested in Science or Engineering, STEM.

This student really needs a good Math Education like we provide in Tiers 4, 5,and 6.  This is vastly superior to any high school math program I am aware of offered by any school or online program today.

A student of TMI, James Dewey, has completed all six Tiers and has won a full ride scholarship to a very good school.  He attributes this to Triad Math.

And, now almost any student interested in some STEM subjects can Succeed with Math for STEM.

Historically, Integral Calculus and Differential Equations were a Huge Barrier for STEM students.  NO MORE!

Learning the proper concepts and modern tools are necessary for success in any STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) subject.

I recommend you read Chapter 6 in my book, https://homeschoolertoday.com/superior/

It will be difficult if you don’t know much STEM Math yourself.

Try to find someone you trust who does know some STEM to read it and see what they think.

The really big deal is to use the 21st Century Tool, Wolfram Alpha, to learn and practice STEM Math.

Indeed, I also highly recommend you acquire a SupraComputer for your student since it will empower your student in ways a normal computer can not.

Visit: https://supracomputer.org/ for details.

Then, when your student finishes Tier 5, you might want a Zoom call with me to discuss further how the student applies to a good University.  I wrote James a letter of recommendation which might have helped him.

Email # 9 – 21st Century Math Education

Over the years, as we created the Six Tier Math Program which is revolutionarily different from what I call the Standard Math Curriculum, or SMC, taught in virtually all schools, books, and even online programs, I have been asked to explain why.

So, I wrote a book that could have been titled: How and Why 21st Century Math Education is vastly superior to 20th Century Math Education.

Since it is only available to Homeschool Educators I titled it: How and Why Homeschool Math Education can be vastly superior to Public School Math Education.

You may read or listen to this book at: https://homeschoolertoday.com/superior/

In essence, both Pedagogy and Content have been radically improved thanks to 21st Century Technologies.

Wolfram Alpha (2009), Wolfram Language (2016), SuperComputer (2017), Print on Demand books via Amazon, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and SPIKE Pedagogy, to name a few.

The cost of delivering this 21st Century Math Education is also an order of magnitude less expensive in several dimensions.

A good analogy would be a modern Smart Phone compared to an old Land Line Phone.

A Smart Phone is 1,000 times more useful, is it not?

And, orders of magnitude less expensive.

Another analogy, Scientific Calculators compared to Slide Rules and Log and Trig Tables that went away back in the 1970’s.

Unfortunately, our Math Students today are still “victims” of the very difficult and ineffective old 20th Century Standard Math Curriculum, or SMC.

DO NOT blame the Math Teachers. They are “victims” too!

The Math Ed Community has a multi-billion dollar investment in the current 20th Century Math Ed System that has evolved over the last 200 years.

Horribly, some of the things still being taught are obsolete manual techniques 200 years old.

Example:  Techniques of Integration to apply the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus which flunks many students out of STEM Math in Calculus 2.

Today, the incredible Math Tool, Wolfram Alpha (2009), totally eliminates this horrible Barrier.

Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Differential Equations are very easy to learn and apply.

100X easier than pre-Wolfram Alpha, which burst on the scene in 2009.

This is explained in my book in Chapter 10.  Of course, you must understand the first 9 Chapters too:)

Homeschoolers can lead the way to the revolution in Math Education. Eventually the mainstream schools will follow, or die.

INDEED, Any Parent can “homeschool” their students on Math by joining the Crusade.

This will help most students greatly in their school’s math.

Both the Pedagogy and Content will be revolutionized in the future at these schools, as it is today for Homeschoolers.

All current Math Textbooks through Calculus are obsolete and worse than ineffective, not to mention very expensive.

Fortunately, Math Teachers can become Mentors and Coaches and themselves learn modern math the way students will be taught.

I applaud all Homeschool Parents and Teachers who are leading the way.
